Con Cora visited Wayuu communities in La Guajira to launch a comprehensive intervention initiative

La Guajira, Colombia

As part of the Con Cora Tour, Con Cora Foundation visited Wayuu communities in La Guajira alongside their founder, Karol G, marking the beginning of a comprehensive intervention aimed at strengthening well-being, education, and the quality of life of children and their families.

During the visit, the team toured the Centro Etnoeducativo Maracari School and the Kainntamana Satellite School, where they shared meaningful moments with children, teachers, and families, recognizing the cultural richness of the Wayuu people and the importance of preserving and honoring their traditions. These interactions fostered close dialogue with the community and reaffirmed Con Cora’s commitment to processes built on respect, active listening, and collaborative work.

This visit marks the beginning of a partnership with Tierra Grata to implement an initiative that will transform the educational environment in these communities. The project includes access to basic services, the strengthening of school infrastructure through the improvement of existing spaces, and the construction of new facilities such as a classroom, a multi-purpose sports court, and a playground, designed as safe spaces for learning, play, and community interaction.

In addition, Con Cora Foundation will promote food security actions and provide ongoing support to families through June 2026, in partnership with Fundación Éxito, recognizing that comprehensive well-being requires addressing educational, social, and community conditions simultaneously. This initiative reflects a long-term vision that recognizes communities as protagonists of their own development.

At Con Cora, we continue working to create real opportunities in historically underserved territories, strengthening processes that uphold dignity, promote collective care, and contribute to closing gender and inequality gaps through a community-centered and sustainable approach.
