Through the “She Is Astronaut” program of the She Is Foundation, we support young women between the ages of 12 and 16 by offering them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the exciting world of science and space technology. This program selects young people from various regions of Colombia and provides them with the opportunity to present innovative STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) research projects These projects range from creating a hydroelectric system to provide light to remote communities to developing alarms for natural disasters.
The most anticipated part of “She Is Astronaut” is that the selected young women have the opportunity to live a unique educational experience at the NASA Space Center Houston. Here, they interact with astronauts, scientists, and experts in the field of space, providing them with invaluable insights into the opportunities available in STEM.
Their journey in the She Is Astronaut program culminates in turning them into significant agents of change who make an impact in their communities, bringing their projects, knowledge, and leadership skills.
