Women Ink is an artistic training program designed to empower women through the art of tattooing and transform stereotypes around this discipline. Through an intensive course, participants acquire technical skills and essential knowledge to begin a career in tattooing, supported by renowned artists.
The first edition took place in Medellín, Colombia, from October 2 to 13, 2023, and the second edition was held in Madrid, Spain, from July 15 to 19, 2024, impacting more than 60 women with quality training and mentorship.
Participants receive 40 hours of intensive training in one week, covering the fundamentals of tattooing, including:
– History and evolution of tattoo art.
– Tattoo execution techniques and different styles.
– Tools and materials used for tattooing.
– Workspace setup and application procedures.
– Aftercare and best practices within the industry.
The course is led by renowned artists Javi Cinco Ángeles Tattoo and Juan Ramón RC Tattoo, who guide the participants in their learning process and artistic development.
Many women face significant barriers in accessing educational and professional opportunities in the artistic world. Factors such as lack of resources, discrimination, and social exclusion hinder their professional development.
